FAQ
What are your rates?
My 2025 rates are $215 for a 55-minute individual intake or follow-up session and $355 for a 90-minute couples intake.
Through my HIPAA-compliant telehealth system, I keep a credit card on file that is charged the day-of the appointment.
What questions should I ask my insurance comapny?
Do I have out-of-network benefits? If so, what is my deductible and how far away am I from meeting it? Is there an “allowable amount” that my reimbursement percentage will be based off of? (Ex: some companies have an allowable amount of $100, which means if your copay is 30%, the company will only reimburse 70% of $100, not 70% of my session fee). What is my OON “out-of-pocket maximum”?
I’m out-of-state- can I still see you?
I am licensed to practice in Oregon, North Carolina, and VA. If you do not reside in one of these states, feel free to still reach out for referrals.
Are there any populations or issues you don’t work with?
I work with any adults who would like to see changes in their lives and are motivated to put in that work. I work with people of all genders, sexual orientations, and lifestyles.
However, if you’re looking for active addiction, active eating disorder, or other specialized treatment, I will refer you to colleagues who will be a better fit! If you have a history of addiction, eating disorders, or OCD and those issues are being managed, I can absolutely work with you.
What is your availability?
I am currently available to take on new clients! I offer appointments Monday-Friday, with some evening availability for east-coast clients.
Do you take insurance?
I am out-of-network for insurance. However, I am more than happy to create a superbill for our sessions that you can submit to your insurance company. Typically, clients see reimbursement on their sessions if they a) have out-of-network benefits and b) have met their deductible for those benefits. Check with your insurance company about mental health coverage specifically. Superbills include provider ID information, CPT code, diagnosis code, and other information necessary for you to submit a claim.
Do you offer telehealth or in-person?
I only offer telehealth appointments at this time. For telehealth, I use Simple Practice, which is an online platform that allows me to meet with clients via HIPAA-compliant video calls. You will receive a link to your appointment 72 hours in advance and the day-of as well.
What frequency is best for therapy?
With couples therapy, expect to come for at least 16 sessions- unfortunately, there are no quick fixes for relationship problems that actually lead to long-lasting change. Plan to come regularly (weekly or every-other-week) for the best results. We need time to process and cement a new pattern through repetition (we are legitimately rewiring the brain and body to react differently!)
Monthly check-ins are reserved for clients who have already undergone regular sessions and are ready to start terminating therapy.
For individuals, it totally depends- some issues are short-term (6-10 sessions), other issues are treated more long-term. It’s important for me to be transparent with you about what you should expect, so we will talk about it!
What is your cancellation policy?
As detailed in the practice policies document, I have a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. For any appointments that are cancelled within 48-hours, the full session fee is charged, unless the cancellation is considered a true emergency (i.e. hospitalization). Our time is so important together, and I reserve that time slot just for you! Please call or email to cancel the appointment, even after hours. The cancellation policy and my contact information is provided as a reminder on all of your appointment reminder emails. I cannot meet with just one partner for couples therapy- both of you need to be present- unless it’s a clinically relevant, pre-planned breakout session.
